About the position

Clinical genetics and genomics is a medical unit (ME) that belongs to the Medical Diagnostics Karolinska (MDK) function. We investigate patients and provide expert knowledge in all areas of disease. Our analyses are at the forefront and contribute to more patients receiving a correct diagnosis. Within the unit, there are several parts with different focuses.

As a medical secretary, you are the hub of the operation and work within the field of Clinical Genetics and Genomics, which is in an exciting phase of development. Together with the unit's various professional roles such as nurses, doctors, and genetic counselors, you are responsible for the daily operations.

Examples of tasks:

• regular telephone service
• registering healthcare contacts and entering records in the TakeCare system
• supporting the operation by requesting records from all over the country and sending consent documents to patients
• administrative tasks such as mail handling and TeleQ.

We are looking for someone who

• enjoys administrative work and is good at prioritizing, you are used to handling several parallel tasks at the same time
• is flexible and can adapt to changing conditions, you have the ability to view problems from different perspectives to then solve them
• works well with others and relates to them in a responsive and smooth manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively
• independently seeks information and actively contributes to dialogue and development of the operation.

It is important that you enjoy the mix of administrative work and patient contact. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education as a medical secretary, healthcare administrator, or medical secretary
• Work experience in record writing
• Good language skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

• Experience in an administrative role in a larger organization
• Experience working in IT systems such as Starlims.
